Job Description
We’re partnering with a Kansas City, MO-based organization to find an experienced Technical Writer for a 12-month contract supporting their Education & Training team. This hybrid role will focus on developing, editing, and maintaining a wide range of written materials that support internal training programs. If you have strong writing and editing skills, a background in technical or instructional content, and an eye for detail, this is a great opportunity to work on impactful projects within a collaborative team.

- Write and edit a variety of training-related content, including course descriptions, evaluations, how-to guides, and promotional materials
- Proofread and refine written work from the internal team to ensure consistency and clarity
- Translate complex processes and policies into clear, concise instructional materials
- Develop and maintain standardized documentation for users of training and credential programs
- Assist in shaping a consistent voice across all Education & Training content
- Participate in high-profile projects and contribute to expanding training offerings
- Follow timelines and manage writing projects independently with minimal supervision
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as English, communications, instructional design, or a related discipline
- At least three years of hands-on experience in technical writing, ideally within a training, education, or corporate environment
- Strong command of written English, including grammar, structure, and tone
- Able to manage multiple assignments independently and meet project deadlines with minimal oversight
- Comfortable breaking down complex topics and turning them into easy-to-understand content
- Highly organized with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy
- Skilled in Microsoft 365 tools;prior exposure to learning systems or content creation software is beneficial
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams
