Job Description
Amazing local Kansas City company with a national and international reach seeks their next true teammate, a B2B Product Marketing Director. The B2B Product Marketing Director will proactively increase and continuously optimize the business product line and product success via marketing.
As a tactical and strategic marketer, they will ensure that product communications are desirable to target business audiences and that product experiences exceed customer needs. They will produce success in the customer journey with an ongoing marketing strategy for anticipating and meeting customer needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Vision, Positioning, and Messaging
- Develop clear, compelling, and differentiating product line and product positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the product's unique selling points, features, and benefits.
Market Customer and Competitive Research
- Conduct thorough market and customer research, as needed, to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Analyze customer feedback, competitors, and market data to refine product marketing strategies.
Product Launch Support
- Coordinate product launches, including coordinating with sales and marketing teams.
- Implement product marketing plans that support the long business sales cycle through acquisition and retention.
- Monitor and report on the success of product launches, making adjustments as needed.
Full Product Lifecycle Management
- Plan and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
- Plan and execute lifecycle management strategies for product lines and products.
- Create marketing plans and promotion strategies.
Content Creation
- Collaborate with Creative and Content to create marketing collateral such as landing pages, brochures, and presentations needed to support product marketing plans.
Sales Enablement
- Equip the sales team with marketing tools to effectively communicate and merchandise product line and product value
Customer Engagement
- Collaborate with customer support and sales teams to address customer inquiries and feedback.
- Develop customer-facing materials and resources.
Product Performance
- Track, assess, recommend, and ensure optimization tactics to maximize product line and product performance.
Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8 to 10+ years of proven experience in business-to-business product marketing (tangible products) or a related role.
- Experience in developing marketing plans: strategy, customer research, competitive analysis, product requirements, messaging, etc.
- Experience in leading go to market (GTM) programs: acquisition, thought leadership, trade shows, social marketing, content marketing, etc.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and product lifecycle, especially B2B marketing.
- Data-driven approach and deep comfort with digital tools and data with the natural curiosity to learn and experiment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency in market research and analysis.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
