Job Description

Procurement Specialist

If you enjoy purposeful work and want to be part of an organization that helps people every day, this role will speak to you. We are searching for a Procurement Specialist who can bring fresh thinking, strong judgment, and a steady approach to purchasing across a wide range of needs. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves building relationships, solving problems, and guiding teams through clear and fair buying processes. Experience in SaaS or professional services is a big plus.

What You Will Do
  • Lead purchasing activities from the early planning stage all the way through final award. This includes quotes, bids, RFPs, and contract steps.
  • Review and compare responses, negotiate pricing and service terms, and work with internal partners to make sure everything aligns with policy and business needs.
  • Support the management of supplier contracts, including renewals, updates, scope reviews, and pricing checks.
  • Approve purchase orders and requisitions with a careful eye for accuracy and clarity.
  • Help departments understand procurement best practices and ensure consistency across the full process.
  • Work in a setting that values collaboration, service, and strong partnerships with both internal teams and suppliers.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related area.
  • Background in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing. Public sector experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain processes in a way that builds trust.
  • A steady approach in fast-paced situations and a natural interest in improving how things get done.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys structure but also likes the freedom to improve the process. If you want to work with a team that shows up for each other and values real impact, this is a great place to grow.

NOTE:
This position requires valid authorization to work in the United States. The employer does not provide work visa sponsorship, so candidates must already have the ability to work in the US with no restrictions.

The position is located in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and all applicants must reside in the area to be considered. The role is on-site and is not listed as hybrid or remote.
