Job Description
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for both government contract accounting and multi-state payroll support. This role manages project budgets, prepares and submits contract billings through government systems, and completes Work in Progress (WIP) reporting. The position ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness across accounting and payroll functions.
Essential Functions

Create and maintain job budgets, contract setup, and charge codes within the accounting system.

Prepare, submit, and post government contract billings using ComputerEase or similar systems.
-
Manage contract billing schedules, reporting requirements, and monthly WIP review.

Track contract funding levels and prepare required customer notifications.

Participate in internal and external audits, including financial, benefits, and DCAA compliance.

Maintain departmental procedures to support accuracy and efficiency.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Payroll Support Functions

Assist with processing multi-state payroll in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards.

Maintain accuracy of timekeeping data and payroll records (exempt, non-exempt, SCA, CBA).

Review deductions, garnishments, and tax updates to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.

Prepare standard payroll reports including earnings, deductions, and tax summaries.
Qualifications
Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years of billing and invoicing experience
-
Minimum 2 years of experience using accounting software
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office;advanced Excel skills required

Experience with ComputerEase or Deltek preferred
Skills:

Strong understanding of payroll and accounting compliance requirements

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to analyze financial data and follow established procedures

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
