HOT ROLE! Junior Buyer (Contract to Hire) | KC Metro Candidates Only
Kansas City, MO
$28.85 to $33.65 per hour | Hybrid role after training
An international manufacturing organization with a growing Kansas City operation is seeking a Junior Buyer to join its procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their purchasing career who wants exposure to global suppliers, modern supply chain systems, and a collaborative procurement group.
If you have 2 to 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience and enjoy working with suppliers, coordinating orders, and helping operations stay on schedule, this role offers the chance to build deeper supply chain expertise inside a larger organization.
The position begins fully in office for the first 90 days for training, then moves to a hybrid schedule once you are fully ramped up.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and issue purchase orders based on MRP demand, lead times, and customer requirements
- Maintain purchasing records including pricing, deliveries, supplier performance, and inventory activity
- Confirm purchase orders with suppliers and verify pricing accuracy and delivery timelines
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with vendors when needed
- Coordinate closely with customer service and warehouse teams to ensure parts and materials arrive on time
- Support internal teams by handling quote requests for customer parts orders
- Expedite parts orders when timing is critical for production or customers
- Serve as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve purchasing or delivery issues
- 3 to 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with operational data
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems, such as Microsoft AX is a plus
- Exposure to Power BI or interest in learning the tool
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate across teams
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
