A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead HR operations for its Trenton, MO area plant. This site has a highly engaged workforce and a strong sense of community, with a culture rooted in teamwork, transparency, and pride in the work they produce. The HR Manager will serve as the primary HR contact for approximately 150–175 employees, partnering closely with plant leadership while receiving support from the broader corporate HR team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, visible on the floor, and connected to employees at all levels. The plant is experiencing growth and operational changes, creating meaningful opportunities to support employees, enhance processes, and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main HR resource for all plant employees, overseeing employee relations, staffing, performance management, training, and policy administration

  • Partner closely with plant leadership to support day-to-day operations and workforce planning

  • Ensure consistent application of HR practices, compliance standards, and company policies

  • Lead onboarding, employee engagement, and communication initiatives to maintain a positive workplace culture

  • Manage documentation, HR reporting, and HRIS updates in partnership with corporate HR

  • Support safety programs and collaborate on training, compliance, and employee initiatives

  • Walk the production floor regularly to stay connected with employees and maintain strong relationships

  • Assist with organizational changes, including production transfers and staffing adjustments

  • Participate in community and employee-engagement activities and events

  • Support regional locations as needed, with occasional travel to nearby plants for collaboration or training

Qualifications

  • Previous HR experience required, with the ability to independently support a plant or business unit

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment strongly preferred

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization

  • Comfortable managing employee relations, coaching leaders, and providing sound HR guidance

  • High level of organization, follow-through, and attention to detail

  • Degree preferred, but experience will be considered in place of formal education

  • Knowledge of multi-shift operations, safety programs, or state workforce programs is a plus
