This position within our education division also boasts highly convenient working hours: 6: 00 am - 3: 00 pm!

Position Description:


The Substitute Staffing Specialist is tasked with being the main contact for all of our substitute teachers and school administrative staff. This position interviews, hires, trains and places substitute teachers into our partnering school districts. The position will be measured on the continued recruiting of qualified substitutes and the fill rates per district.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the substitute software system and identify the needed subs for each day.
  • Ability to make a high volume of phone calls throughout the day to ensure all jobs are filled.
  • Ability to think outside of the box on high usage days in order to fill each job.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with substitutes to deliver positive and negative feedback.
  • Determine from our applicant tracking system, the applicants that are qualified for an interview. Set up and perform interviews with applicants.
  • Work closely with the school contacts to identify upcoming absences and deliver a high level of customer service to all employees of the school district.
  • Conduct weekly Orientation training for newly hired substitutes.
  • Build relationships with the substitutes in order to understand their qualifications and personalities in order to make the best classroom placements.
  • Identify outstanding performances from the substitutes in order to award our monthly and yearly Sub Awards.
  • Run reports in the substitute software system as needed.
  • Possess a high level of administrative skills and attention to detail in order to keep all sub files and spreadsheets up-to-date.
  • Work with the Program Director and the Human Resource Manager when substitute performance issues develop.
  • Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable on all of our partnering school’s programs, training, issues and changes in order to communicate needed information to the Substitute pool.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


Job Requirements and Desired Skills:
  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Background in Education preferred.
  • A Self-starter with outstanding problem solving skills and able to operate under pressure with urgency.
  • Able to multi-task at a high level, yet maintain a close attention to detail.
  • Effectively demonstrate competence in phone skills and able to make a high volume of phone calls.
  • Experience with communication to large groups and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts.
  • Able to self-motivate and work autonomously with a focus on accomplishing daily and monthly goals.
  • Ability to work in a positive team-oriented manner with a variety of people (team members, substitutes, secretaries, principals).
  • Enjoy working with people and deliver a high level of customer services.

This is an eleven month position, with the month of June being the off month.
