Our client is seeking a Human Resources and Recruiting Specialist to join their team, where you'll play a critical role in shaping the workforce and driving the nonprofit's mission forward. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with HR leadership to develop and implement proactive recruitment strategies, manage the full hiring process, and support various HR functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies aligned with equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage the full recruitment and selection process, ensuring compliance with EEOC documentation and standards.
  • Coordinate new hire processing activities, including orientations and onboarding.
  • Draft and update job descriptions and oversee job advertising efforts.
  • Process worker’s compensation incidents, claims, and FMLA paperwork, ensuring accurate tracking.
  • Provide consultation and support to hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure all HR activities align with organizational policies and the overall mission.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment laws, including EEOC and affirmative action.
  • Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and relevant trainings.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in recruiting and hiring, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage effective recruitment processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and advise hiring managers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR-related software, with strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care, with a high level of integrity and work ethic.
