General Manager of Operations

This is a Morgan Hunter Exclusive Search and not posted elsewhere. Join our client's dynamic team as their new General Manager of Operations. Oversee a direct team of up to 3 managers and 20+ indirect reports.

The GM of Operations for a leading company in Kansas City will take charge of orchestrating and guiding all post-sale processes. This includes overseeing order entry, scheduling, order management, customer satisfaction, service, logistics, warehousing, and installation. The GM of Ops will be instrumental in crafting and executing operations strategies that ensure the timely delivery of products and services in a cost-effective manner. They will champion processes and procedures to boost productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with departmental managers, they will drive effective continuous improvement programs and events.

General Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure excellence across materials management, logistics, quality control, facility organization, maintenance, safety, and security in warehousing, delivery, and pre-finish functions.
  • Foster seamless collaboration between sales support, service, warehouse, delivery, installation, and sales teams to meet deadlines and uphold quality and customer service standards.
  • Develop strategic third-party relationships.
  • Cultivate a positive service culture, ensuring robust customer satisfaction internally and externally.
  • Expertly handle escalated customer service issues to ensure swift resolution and utmost customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize inventory flow through meticulous oversight of production scheduling and delivery.
  • Spearhead initiatives to reduce operating costs, enhance productivity, and decrease overall cost per unit. Establish and achieve variable operating budgets.
  • Act as a key resource for resolving complex service calls, coordinating with the Service Manager for efficient utilization of Service Techs.
  • Inspire and mentor subordinates, fostering high performance, open communication, and trust.
  • Develop talent through strategic hiring, training, and performance management practices.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and adhere to company policies and values.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advances, and best practices, and encourage continuous learning among team members.
  • Thrive in a goal-oriented environment, driving performance and accountability.

Our client offers a fantastic compensation and benefits package. Bonus targets are up to $48, 000, based on personal and company performance.
