Morgan Hunter has partnered with our Kansas City based client to help them identify a General Manager to lead their Omaha, NE office. The General Manager will be responsible for cultivating a team atmosphere within the office, acting as a conduit of communication to organizational leaders in Kansas City. Externally, the General Manager focus on account management as well as developing and maintaining relationships with designers and clients in the Omaha, Lincoln, and Kearney markets (among other regional markets as well). Experience and/or education in the Architecture and Design industry is key for the General Manager to connect with clients as an expert in the industry and make informed product recommendations. The General Manager will approach both internal communication + business development with an innovative mindset to help achieve annual company goals.

Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Strategize with organizational leadership to identify new business opportunities.
  • Anticipate the wants and needs of clients and architects/designers, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to create successful workspaces.
  • Will serve both new and existing clients by leading showroom tours, initiating meetings (lunches, happy hours, etc.) with key stakeholders, developing pricing and specification strategy, traveling to job sites to oversee current installations and a host of activities that maintain the overall health of an account.
  • Foster growth in the employee team, helping the team access resources, streamline project processes, and maintaining the highly collaborative team environment in the office.
  • Will grow and maintain relationships and communication with a multitude of business partners: Manufacturers’Representatives, Architecture and Design Firms, General Contractors, Installation Contractors, and more.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Engineering/Construction-Related Field
  • At least 5 Years of Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or Design Industry Experience is preferred OR the ability to quickly develop relationships within those industries
  • Highly collaborative and enjoys helping others succeed –Building and maintaining relationships is second nature
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • People-oriented and a successful communicator with strong social awareness
  • Ability to interpret new business opportunities (Prior business development experience a plus)
  • Practiced in executive decision making and delegation of tasks based on people’s strengths
  • Thorough knowledge of PDF editing and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Experienced in managing multiple aspects of various projects at the same time, with focus and accuracy.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling Programs (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, CET Designer, etc.) preferred but not required
