Newly created position with a dedicated focus in employee relations, union negotiations, and helping build company culture and engagement. Innovative company that has grown quickly through mergers and acquisitions with many exciting business objectives ahead. Work closely with the leadership team in creating a great workplace culture through employee engagement, performance management and development and relationship building.

Area of focus:
  • Build positive and constructive relationships with business leaders and teams, understanding objectives and goals as an organization
  • Foster relationships with union and non-union facilities, multiple locations
  • Implement programs, trainings and events that increase employee morale, motivation and satisfaction
  • Conduct onboarding programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives and conduct employee engagement surveys
  • Collaborate with managers in coaching and developing their teams
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to business leaders on a variety of employee relations issues
  • Investigate employee and supervisor concerns related to conduct, performance, and attendance
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts as they arise
  • Stay informed on external labor union trends and movements
  • Conduct union negotiations as needed

Experience needed for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field of study
  • 5 years previous experience in HR/Employee Relations
  • Union negotiations experience, 1st chair
  • Experience conducting investigations and working through union grievances
  • Workplace culture management and engagement experience
  • Skilled in building trusted advisor work partnerships
  • General employment law knowledge and experience
  • This is an onsite, in office position, located in Kansas City, MO
