Job Description
Our Kansas City client is searching for an experienced and adaptable Benefits Specialist to join their team and support a diverse group of active and retired members. This opportunity offers the chance to play a crucial role in the administration of retirement benefits within a collaborative and supportive environment. The position is based 100% on-site, with flexibility as needed, allowing you to work directly with members and contribute to a strong and close-knit team culture.

Responsibilities:
- Assist and answer questions for active and retired members
- Provide support during the separation and/or retirement process.
- Help process benefit payments, including calculating contributions and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain both electronic and hard copy records and assist with data management.
- Provide customer assistance in person, by phone, email, and virtually.
- Follow up on member inquiries and ensure timely responses and processing.
- Work with minimal supervision and maintain adherence to rules, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing annual reports and related financial documentation.
- Support payroll-related tasks, including calculating member contributions weekly.
- Participate in developing and upgrading systems and processes
Qualifications:
- Experience in payroll, benefits administration, human resources, or related fields is required.
- Knowledge of retirement systems and benefits administration.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting principles.
- Ability to communicate complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
