Job Description

A well-established consumer goods company in Kansas City is seeking a Benefits & Payroll Specialist to support its growing team. This direct hire, hybrid position offers a balance of stability and variety, combining full-cycle payroll processing with administration of employee benefits. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid systems knowledge, and enjoys being the go-to person for payroll and benefits questions across multiple states.

Responsibilities
  • Administer payroll processing for multi-state employees and ensure timely, accurate completion
  • Oversee benefits enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment in partnership with HR leadership
  • Serve as a resource for employees on benefit and payroll-related questions
  • Audit payroll and benefits data for accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulations
  • Maintain employee records and ensure correct setup of tax and benefit information in HRIS systems
  • Partner with external vendors and brokers to coordinate benefit renewals and plan updates
  • Generate and analyze reports to support audits, reconciliations, and management requests
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements within HR operations

Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of combined payroll and benefits experience required
  • Experience with HRIS or payroll systems
  • Strong organizational skills with proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage sensitive data and maintain confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
