Job Description
A Kansas City company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. Working closely with the Controller, this person will take on some general accounting functions in the department. Full benefits package and competitive salary are offered with this opportunity.
Description:
- Assist the Controller with day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the accounting department
- Perform transactional accounting, AP, AR, preparing month-end financials
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries
- Perform new vendor account setup, including W9's
- Assist in preparation of annual financial audit, including providing all items requested by outside auditor
- Work with management team to prepare related reports as needed
- Reconcile and close books monthly, prepare year-end reconciliation and close
The successful candidate will have:
- 2+ years of general accounting experience, Accounting degree
- Experience with Excel and ERP systems
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
